Environmental pollution is one of the problems that still occurs frequently and can have an impact on human life and ecosystems. Pollution can come from various activities, such as industrial activities, transportation, households, and the use of materials that are difficult to decompose. To reduce these problems, the application of technology is needed that is not only able to overcome pollution, but also still pays attention to environmental sustainability. Sustainable technology can be one of the solutions through the use of cleaner energy, waste treatment, resource reuse, and the development of technology that produces lower environmental impacts. However, its application still faces several obstacles, such as considerable costs, technological limitations, lack of public knowledge, and the need for maintenance. This article discusses the role of sustainable technological innovation in reducing environmental pollution and some of the challenges that need to be considered in its application. The application of the right technology is expected to help reduce pollution while supporting the creation of a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
