Aim & Scopes
Aims and Scope
Academic focus and interdisciplinary research areas of POMIST – Journal of Pollution Mitigation and Sustainable Technology
POMIST – Journal of Pollution Mitigation and Sustainable Technology is an international peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge, engineering innovation, and interdisciplinary solutions for the prevention, reduction, treatment, monitoring, remediation, and sustainable management of environmental pollution. The journal provides a platform for researchers, engineers, environmental scientists, industry professionals, policymakers, and practitioners to communicate original research and technological developments addressing contemporary environmental challenges.
POMIST particularly encourages research that moves beyond pollution identification and develops measurable, technically sound, environmentally responsible, and practically applicable solutions. The journal welcomes studies integrating pollution-control technologies with cleaner production, resource efficiency, waste valorization, environmental monitoring, circular economy, low-carbon processes, sustainable materials, digital technologies, and environmental management.
The journal seeks to strengthen the connection between environmental science, engineering, technology, industrial implementation, sustainability, and society. Contributions should demonstrate clear scientific, technological, environmental, or practical significance and should contribute to the development of cleaner, safer, and more sustainable systems.
Scope of the Journal
POMIST welcomes experimental, numerical, computational, analytical, field-based, empirical, conceptual, review, case-study, and interdisciplinary research addressing pollution mitigation and sustainable technology. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:
From Pollution Prevention to Sustainable Systems
Prevent pollutants and waste at their source through cleaner design, production, materials, and processes.
Reduce pollution loads, emissions, environmental risks, and ecological impacts through effective technologies.
Develop treatment, remediation, recovery, and restoration technologies for contaminated environments.
Transform environmental systems through circular economy, resource efficiency, and sustainable technology.
Connecting Science, Engineering, Technology and Sustainability
POMIST encourages interdisciplinary contributions that connect environmental science, chemical and process engineering, civil and environmental engineering, materials science, biotechnology, data science, industrial technology, sustainability, economics, policy, and society.
Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear relationship between the research problem and the prevention, mitigation, treatment, monitoring, remediation, recovery, or sustainable management of environmental pollution.
Scope and Relevance
Manuscripts submitted to POMIST should demonstrate a clear connection to pollution mitigation, environmental treatment, environmental technology, cleaner production, remediation, resource recovery, circular economy, or sustainable technological systems.
Studies that only describe environmental conditions, pollutant concentrations, ecological observations, or sustainability indicators without providing a meaningful technological, methodological, mitigation, management, or solution-oriented contribution may be considered outside the journal's primary scope.
